Job Description

Marketing Communications

  • Assist with activities related to the development and implementation of the marketing communications program and related initiatives in support of the marketing plan across the business sectors, and consistent with the port authority’s customer engagement strategy.

Media Planning

  • Alongside the marketing communications advisor, works with advertising agencies to develop and track business-to-business media plans.
  • Writes and produces content for commercial audiences, and coordinate communications in support of customer engagement.
  • Liaises with advertising agency, creative designer, publications and other external contractors.

General Writing and Collateral Development

  • Researches, writes and develops promotional and electronic material for distribution to business audiences and posting on the port authority’s website.
  • Organizes translation as appropriate.
  • Coordinates integrated sector communications collateral and presentations.
  • Writes and produces content for customer communication, as directed.
  • Maintains content on the port’s website sections to support business initiatives.

Customer Engagement and Outreach Support

  • Assists with the development of industry outreach materials such as PowerPoint presentations, briefing notes and event invitations.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of departmental objectives, the port authority’s mission, vision and values and their relevance and integration with customer engagement and outreach initiatives.
  • Prepares detailed documentation for outreach and engagement and assists with other related activities as required.

Business Sponsorships, Trade Shows And Other Promotional Events

  • Participates in the development of the business sponsorship program and coordinates activities as required.
  • Coordinates communications and promotional opportunities with marketing partners and port customers and stakeholders.
  • Coordinates and attends business trade shows as required.
  • Develops speaking notes and promotional material as required.
  • Monitors the budget against the media plan and ensures invoices from outside agencies are correct.

Special Events

  • Coordinates the logistics and assists with the planning of special events including opening ceremonies, harbour tours, receptions, port participation in business sector events, port-hosted conferences, etc.
  • Coordinates the production of events, budgets, critical path time-lines, invitations, collateral materials, signage, bookings, hospitality, entertainment, transportation, and staffing needs.
  • Researches and recommends appropriate event protocols.
