Job Description
EMSL Canada, the fastest growing provider of environmental laboratory services, is currently seeking a full time Chemistry/Lead (Pb) Analyst for its Mississauga, ON laboratory location, a suburb of Toronto.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Sample preparation and acid digestion for Lead (Pb) analysis on various media such as: paint, soil, wipes and cassettes.
TCLP sample preparation, extraction, and analysis by FLAA.
Setting up analytical batches and analysis, calibration, and maintenance of FLAA.
Should be able to perform basic chemistry tasks such as pipetting, utilizing analytical balances, performing volumetric measurements, preparation of reagents, and standards while maintaining documentation and record keeping.
Data analysis, evaluation and documentation of all results using LIMS
Maintain and operate laboratory instrumentation/equipment
Perform QA/QC practices and adhere to policies per company QA/QC manual
Record data in a specified manner
Clerical duties including report generation and data entry of sample receipt into LIMS System
Cross-training in other areas of analysis may be required to meet business demands.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science a plus, chemistry preferred
One to two years’ experience working in a lab setting with FLAA a plus and desired
Candidate must be able to distinguish between colors in order to perform analysis
Must be able to work independently or with a team
Must be able to work in a fast-paced setting, multi-task, and prioritize assignments
Must have good communication, computer, typing, and organizational skills
Must be willing and able to work OT and some weekends
Available Shift:
Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., extra hours and/or weekend work may be required to meet business demands
