Position Summary:
Overall global responsibility for investment in content and production (IIC), producer royalty and participation accruals across Film and Television division. Responsible for the maintenance of the film accounting and royalty accrual models.
Job Responsibilities:
- Own the global film accounting and royalty accrual models.
- Direct the team through the month end process – running & reviewing the film accounting models for royalties payable to the producers and amortization of assets, perform variance analysis against the budget/forecast
- Assist in development and implementation of global IIC models
- Own all balance sheet reconciliations
- Lead all the reporting and communication of film accounting related matters to all stakeholders.
- Accountable for reviewing policies and procedures and recommend improvements to achieve efficiency
- Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations; decrease turnaround times; and streamline work processes
- Lead the global internal and external audit processes relating to film accounting models.
- Lead and manage team of direct reports
- Accomplish tasks on time and contribute to the team by taking on and/or assisting with additional projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and professional designation
- 7+ years of progressive work experience in finance
- Demonstrated ability to analyse complex financial information, draw conclusions and present findings to multiple stakeholders
- Attention to detail in all areas of work
- Highly organised with project management skills, and drive to prioritise diverse tasks and meet/exceed objectives
- Ability to create and build strong working relationships across divisions and functions
- Able to cope in a fast paced environment under pressure with tight deadlines, simultaneously handling multiple projects
- Deep knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, and reporting requirements
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Computer literate, especially strong in Excel
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
