Job Description

  • Position Description Summary:Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will provide your technical expertise and skills to assemble, install, maintain and repair equipment within our manufacturing facility, while adhering to general management objectives, company policies, health & safety rules and established quality standards.Principal Accountabilities: (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations):
    • Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair/rebuild plant production equipment and machinery as well as facility systems
    • Maintain optimum operating efficiency with minimum down time
    • Maintain on-going preventative maintenance programs complete with documentation
    • Identify and implement plant improvements and improve cost effectiveness
    • Attend to machinery breakdowns and production stoppages
    • Operate machine shop equipment (lathe, mill, grinder, etc.)
    • Order and/or pickup parts and supplies.
    • Participate and maintain 5S in the workplace
    • Participate in and contribute to the continuous improvement process
    • Adhere to all workplace safety policies, compliances and regulations
    • May be assigned to perform additional tasks, as required

    Knowledge and Skills: (The following minimum requirements are normal guidelines and should not constrain the advancement of otherwise qualified personnel):

    • Millwright License 433A (Certificate of Apprenticeship required, Red Seal certificate an asset)
    • Minimum of 2 years related industrial experience and proven success in process improvement, maximizing equipment efficiencies and run time
    • Capable of servicing new equipment and rebuilding/servicing old equipment
    • Ability to read blueprints and layout drawings
    • Working at heights training certification, forklift license, scissor lift experience/certification (certification not required but experience preferred)
    • Experience in basic welding
    • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act
    • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work within a Cross-Functional Technical Team
