Job DescriptiON
Qualifications :
- University degree in business, health sciences or related discipline
- Completion of, or working towards an accounting designation preferred
- 3-5years experience case costing and healthcare accounting experience
- Knowledge of MIS guidelines, OCC Standards and Ontario Hospital Reporting System Standards, and
- Advanced financial and statistical analytic skills, data manipulation and database management techniques
- Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, Crystal, Access)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including report writing, coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented
- Knowledge of Clinical Workload Systems preferred
- Working knowledge of MedAssets Alliance for Decision Support preferred
- Evidence of good performance history and attendance record

- Should be aware of conditions and measures that may affect the safety of patients, residents, students, employees, volunteers, physicians and visitors
Accountabilities:
- Clinical Workload Measurement and reporting including:
- Manage workload database through software product testing, trouble-shooting, and ensuring interface functionality.
- Refine allied health workload measurement tools to accurately capture data and meet reporting and decision-making needs.
- Train allied health professionals and students on the collection and recording of workload data
- Conduct audits to ensure workload data is captured for all patients visits, in-line with reported worked hours, and reported on a timely basis
- Create workload data files (nursing and health professions) for Ministry of Health and Long Term Care reporting and case costing.
- Liaise with software vendors as necessary
- Maintain the case costing system including:
- Assist with the set up and maintenance of a case costing methodology compliant with CIHI MIS Standards, and provincial OCC and OHRS standards.
- Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to develop efficient processes for the collection and integration of financial, statistical and clinical data into the case cost system.
- Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to develop the most appropriate methods for allocating total hospital costs to absorbing functional centres and ultimately to each patient/client.
- Reconcile and load data for quarterly reporting, monitoring the inputs for data quality
- Manage upgrades and maintenance of the system
- Submit data to OCC database ensuring timelines are met and follow-up to ensure compliance with OCC audits
- Liaise with software vendors as necessary to ensure optimal functioning of the system
- Liaise with OCC as necessary
- Promote the dissemination and use of case costing and workload data by developing reports and providing analysis, interpretation and education for senior management, management, finance and clinical staff to support decision making.
- Participate in OCC committees and other internal / external committees as necessary
- Develop ad hoc reports and provide analysis and interpretation as necessary
